Indie Author Recommendations
As an independent author, I have learned a lot about the stress and struggles that come along with doing this independently. Below are some independent authors that I recommend. I will share the first book by an author I enjoyed reading with a link to their Amazon book page.
**I'm going to keep these all legit "indie authors" without a publisher. Further down I will eventually add some main stream recommendations.
I didn't know what to expect getting into this book. I was pleasantly surprised at how fast it pulled me in! I read the first half on the first day and had to force myself to put it down to get some rest. I was also pleasantly surprised at the twist! I knew there was something brewing, but I couldn't place it.... I'm not often surprised, but this one got me good!
Honestly, I'm sad it's over! I want more! Lol
It's definitely a must-read! I hope to see more from Melissa Tilley Hall in the future!
I can't live with just year one... It pulled me in early on. Only the first chapter had me wanting to know where the story was going.
The details of the tough scenes were well written and had me pulled into the trauma associated with the scenes.
I'm torn on my feelings for the characters and the decisions they make. I don't often sit and read an entire book in a day, but I did with this one.
Looking forward to more from Allison Berry
Introduction set up the entire story well. You understood what was going on with Boone. Then we move to modern day and the story begins to unfold.
There are hints to other parts of the story that just keep you guessing and wanting more. The build up was amazing and I would finish a chapter with "just one more" finding myself reading longer then I really should have.
The ending was great! I was scared, knowing it could go so many ways, but she did the right thing with the characters (even if I hated it a little- it was necessary and the best choice in my opinion).
I started this book just to read a chapter before bed and read three. Each day, I tried to find a reason to sneak away and read another few pages! I kept me guessing the entire time! There was only one moment (in the end) that I knew what had to happen next (the last twist/surprise).
There are a lot of characters to meet and care about in this first book of the trilogy! New characters are often introduced to help build the story and bring much needed exposition to the story. There is a lot of in-depth planning and research into all the dynamics that come into play, and I'm truly impressed!
Get ready for a roller coaster of twists and turns along the way!
Looking forward to reading the rest of the trilogy!
The man who I did my damndest to please, even kill for, turned out to be a blood sucking monster. His hypnotic eyes invaded my mind and planted a nightmare within it, brainwashing me into thinking life on a floral plantation, as a slave, was the perfect life. What more could a girl dream for? The poison my master planted inside my mind was pulled out by their roots and I found freedom and acceptance amongst my new coven.
Centuries have passed and now a rumor of a war within the vampiric community threatens us. I now find myself facing a new nightmare. Ancient fears I thought I conquered are now clouding my mind. Is the vampire who created me out of hiding and back to destroy the life I created for myself, along with my loved ones? Perhaps. Perhaps not. But things have changed since our last encounter. I have changed... I am Sassandra of the Ooljéé coven. And I am no longer afraid.
